Doha: Qatar National Bank (QNB), the country's premier financial institution, has received Hypercom Award of Excellence from Hypercom.
The award was presented to QNB one of the fastest growing financial institutions to adopt latest Hypercom Interactive Communication Environment (ICE) and Optimum Point on Salt (POS) technologies.
Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari, general manager, Operations and information Technology, QNB received the Hypercom Award of Excellence from William Keiper, president and CEO of Hypercom during a special ceremony at the Marriot Hotel.
Gracing the occasion were QNB officials including Marwan Mahmoud, GM, finance and administration, Mohamed Ali Al Khulaifi, assistant general manager, Retail Operations; Mazen Turjman, senior manager, Electronic Banking Department (EBD); Vijayaragan L, manager, Systems Development, and Amit Desai, executive manager Credit Cards.
Ali Al Kuwari added: "Hypercom technology enabled QNB to provide our customers with the fastest POS transaction processing Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) solution. This will enable our retail merchant customers to perform Visa, MasterCard and other card payments taking advantage of the Hypercom high speed Terminals and Network Infrastructure."
Also present was Aiman Mazahreh, executive director of STS the Master Hypercom Distributor for Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Mahmoud Amer, general manager of Ideal Solutions Company, the local partner distributor for Hypercom STS in Qatar.
"We are very happy to see an escalating demand for the Hypercom range of POS Terminals and Services in Qatar. Hypercom's advantage over the competition is that it provides end to end solutions to its clients in the EFT industry," Keiper said.
