Doha - The Ministry of Interior has signed two deals worth a total of QR88m for the construction of two buildings.

One will be for the Civil Defence Department and will be built in Umm Ghuwailina while a second building will house the Communications Department in Al Murra West district.

Brigadier Abdul Azeez Abdullah Al Ansari, Director of the Logistics Department at the Ministry, and Tariq Hamada, Administration Manager of the Noors Engineering Company, signed the contract in the presence of Brigadier Ali Salim Al Hanzab, Director of the Ministry's Communications and Operations Department, Staff Brigadier Abdullah Muhammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Civil Defence and Colonel Saud Rashid Al Shafi, Head of the Purchase Section of the Logistics Department of the ministry.

Al Ansari said: "The cost of construction of the civil defence building is QR41.8m and the project should be completed in 15 months. The phase of project implementation will start on May 21."
