DOHA - Eid Al Fitr prayers will be held in 163 mosques around Qatar, the Department of Mosques at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced.
Of these, 18 mosques will have special areas for women to perform the prayers. The department this year has added the Hmaza bin Abdul Mutalib mosque in Al Wakra and 29 other mosques to the list.
The Qatar Indian Islahi Centre will organize an Eid Gah at the Government Preparatory Boys School Ground near Jaida flyover on Monday at 5.50am.
There will be a Malayalam translation of the Eid sermon by noted Islamic scholar Abdul Rauf Al Madani, said a release yesterday.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Eid bin Mohammed Al Thani Charitable Association will distribute 6,000 gift packets to children attending the prayers.
Each packet will contain sweets and a cassette of Islamic children's songs. The gifts will be distributed in 15 mosques.
