Doha: Dar Al Sharq, Centre for Information, Training and Research (Darinfo) yesterday wrapped up the fifth training course on public relations.

Jaber Al Harami, deputy editor in chief, Al Sharq, handed over 20 certificates to the participants both men and women who work in public and private sectors.

Yahya Alawad, director of Darinfo, said the five day course culminated with a number of recommendations being made to correct the misunderstanding about public relations. He said that next course will be more specialized adding that these recommendations will be distributed to ministries and other institutions for possible implementation.

At a workshop held on the last day of the course, participants recommended recruiting qualified employees and the necessity of affiliating public relations to upper echelons of management.

Among the recommendations made, one was to convince higher departments on the importance of public relations and the need to train them regularly. The participation in making decisions was also among the recommendations.
