DOHA: The popular Al Meera chain of cooperative retail stores is all set to get a new look and logo and launch an ambitious branch expansion and upgrading plan. The proposed improvements were announced at the annual general meeting of its shareholders here yesterday.
The improvements include a new logo, brand identity, and major upgrades to five branches followed by the remaining branches and new outlets in the future. It is all part of a major commitment towards creating a better shopping experience for Al Meera customers, with a renewed emphasis on freshness and customer service, the company has said.
Al Meera is a convenient and reliable choice for shoppers. While the branches boast a long history in Doha, the company is set to revitalize its identity.
Al Meera executives are debuting a new look for the brand, along with a new vision for an innovative shopping experience. Al Meera hopes consumers will recognize the chain's commitment to serve its customers with unmatched quality and dedication.
Al Meera executives are energized by the prospects that the new programme holds for the company and its customers. "We are thrilled to announce the first-rate changes coming to Al Meera. Despite the financial challenges many companies around the world are facing, Al Meera is focusing on growth and improving the shopping experience for our loyal customers," said Abdullah K Al Qahtani, Chairman of Al Meera.
"With growth comes investment and Al Meera is investing in high quality, innovative foods and services. Qatar is a different place today than when Al Meera began," said Al Qahtani.
"The priority of consumers has changed. Shoppers are concerned with freshness, price points and environmentally responsible products. We are setting out to create a food shopping experience that meets the demands of shoppers in Qatar. We are making the necessary changes to thrive in this new environment."
Changes begin with a new look for Al Meera branches. Other revamped features have been inspired by Al Meera's commitment to quality standards and environmentally sound practices. Al Meera branches will introduce a new checkout system, an environmentally friendly freezer system and biodegradable grocery bags. These changes mark the first stage of Al Meera's business makeover, with more details to be introduced in the coming months.
"These new business initiatives represent an important step in how we operate," emphasised Al Qahtani. "For the past several decades, we have worked hard to establish ourselves in this market. Moving forward, we will bring you new brands, a new shopping experience, and a renewed commitment to freshness in everything we do. We are making these changes, but Al Meera has been Qatar's favourite neighborhood retailer in the past and that is one thing we don't want to change."
Al Meera has 26 locations in Qatar and is one of this country's most widely recognised retail brands. The company's mission is to serve its customers with quality and dedication, develop friendly and knowledgeable employees, and to share its resources with the community.
