Key speakers at the forum included experts from the ITA, Omantel, Oman Data Park, bank muscat, Nawras and Protiviti.

The speakers covered a wide range of topics on how information technology is shaping personal and professional lives, the essence of talent management and retention of knowledge workers, cloud computing, cyber security, social media, customer experience, data analytics, e-strategy, and corporate shared value with the use of IT.

"The forum discussed the challenges we face in business and how we harness information and communication technologies to overcome them. We are delighted to welcome speakers from a wide range of sectors who are driven and committed to advance the use of information and communication technologies for a competitive edge," said Shatha Salim al Maskiry, country managing director of Protiviti.

Dr Bader al Manthari, director of security management services at ITA, talked about cyber security in today's borderless world. "One out of ten has fallen victim to cyber crime. Cyber security is of utmost importance to defend our privacy and useful information from falling prey to hacking," Dr Manthari added.

Protiviti's IT leadership forum is held every year to provide insights on emerging trends and practical solutions to achieve strategic growth, revolutionise business towards long-term sustainability and achieve the desired competitive edge in today's digital age.
