JEDDAH: Porsche Middle East & Africa on Monday launched Porsche 911 Targa 4(S) all-wheel-drive in Saudi Arabia this week.

Available with both versions of the 911 power unit, the third generation 911 Targa 4 and 911 Targa 4S continue a more than 40-year-old tradition through a highly-advanced and proven glass roof concept available exclusively with permanent all-wheel drive and a body that is 44 mm wider at the rear.

Commenting on the introduction of the new 911 Targa 4(S) in the Kingdom, Deesch Papke, managing director of Porsche Middle East and Africa, said, "Throughout the years, SAMACO has worked determinedly to ensure supreme purchase and ownership experience of Porsche cars in the Kingdom. It is such dedication and effort that have powered Porsche Middle East & Africa to a new sales record for the seventh year in a row. The allnew 911 Targa 4(S) will enhance the Porsche product range in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a unique motoring experience that blends 911 Performance with a panoramic view of the world."

The most distinguishing characteristic of the Targa 4(S) is a folding rear window and a large glass roof blending harmoniously with the sports car's lines and lending it a distinctive personality.

The glass roof, which is 1.9 kg lighter than its predecessor, can be opened in only seven seconds to as much as half a meter, no matter what the speed, by means of two electric motors.

Wind noises are kept to a minimum even at high speed by a newly-developed sealing system and a wind deflector that minimizes turbulence inside the vehicle.

David Matta, general manager, stressed the significance of launching the third generation 911 Targa 4(S) in Saudi Arabia.

"The pleasure of driving a Porsche is not only bound to its unique dynamic behavior on the road, but also derived from its aesthetic qualities. Nowhere is this more apparent than with the new Targa.

When automotive art and performance blend with superior technology there is little one can do to resist the temptation.

The all-new 911 Targa 4(S) will definitely be a great success in Saudi Arabia," he said.

The basic retail price for the new Porsche 911 Targa 4 & 4S in Saudi Arabia is SR3,61,700 (Excluding value added tax and country-specific requirements), and will be available at showrooms starting November 22.
