KFH wins MasterCard award

KUWAIT CITY: MasterCard International awarded Kuwait Finance House (KFH) as pioneer, being the first Kuwaiti bank to launch an un-embossed MasterCard debit card, making it usable allover the world, including remote areas.  KFH is the only bank in Kuwait to offer the MasterCard debit card using smart chip technology.  In both achievements, KFH provides highest safety standards and demonstrates the ability to use credit and debit cards in the various places, both locally and internationally. While receiving the award from Shaun Rashid, Vice-President -- MasterCard International, Mohammad Naser Al-Fozan, Assistant GM -- Banking Sector of KFH stated that all services extended by KFH target the interests of its customers.  "We constantly provide our customers with the latest in technology, compared to highest global standards." He said, "MasterCard un-embossed credit card allows customers to access their accounts even in remote areas, where no other cards are accepted.  In addition, smart chip increases the confidence of KFH's customers, as they can have another safe, easy to use electronic card, anytime, anywhere." He explained.

In a press conference, Al-Fozan elaborated: "We have undertaken to provide the latest electronic payment tools despite the expenses involved.  However, we always put our customers first.  We endeavor to make our customers proud of having our enhanced bank cards, which can be used in the different circumstances and places.  We are encouraged to exert more efforts by our customer's positive response to our initiatives.  In cooperation with out customers, we have converted almost 90 percent of our credit cards into the smart chip system." He continued, "Thus, KFH continues to maintain its pioneering position in e-chip technology.  With the launching of chip debit cards, KFH's are now safer." He concluded, recommending that all travelers change their cards into chip technology, for further security. On his part, Shaun Rashid, on behalf of MasterCard, expressed his pleasure to partner with KFH in this initiative.  He reminded that the un-embossed MasterCard KFH cards are smart chip-based, and are viewed as being the fastest means of payment.  "MasterCard's strong brand equity, coupled with KFH's profound understanding of Islamic banking, represents the essence of the relationship, which will surely benefit KFH's customers." He concluded.
