DOHA: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has joined the BSP automated ticketing system from April 1, according to Airlines Manager Mohammad Shafique.
The BSP (Billing and Settlement Plan) system is used by all major carriers in Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and the UAE. Shafique said PIA's linking up with the BSP system is part of its constant strive to improve its products and services. "With the introduction of PIA-BSP automated tickets, issuance of manual tickets by the travel agencies will be eliminated." said Shafique. The service will be provided by GDS (Global Distribution System) Galileo.
Shafique noted that this is another significant step taken by the PIA to broaden the selling and all the agents will now be able to have access to the fares and inventory of Pakistan's national carrier.
