'Plan Must To Tackle Challenges'
KUWAIT CITY, Dec 8
The new government should lay down a comprehensive plan for dealing with challenges and an ambitious program to achieve the development goals of the country, as well as to address all pending issues, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting MP-elect Ahmad Al-Mulaifi.
In a recent press statement, Al-Mulaifi pointed out the people of Kuwait are now fed up with the endless conflicts between the executive and legislative authorities; hence, the need for the new government to shoulder its responsibilities to move the development wheels forward and to implement reforms in various fields. He added, "We trust the wisdom and experience of HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak in choosing ministers with the ability to manage national affairs efficiently."
Asserting that the citizens are eagerly waiting for real collaboration between the government and the Parliament, Al-Mulaifi believes this collaboration will play a crucial role in improving the political arena and in easing the burdens of the people.
On the other hand, member of the nullified Assembly Riyadh Al-Adsani alleged the new Parliament will pay a high price on the social, political, security and economic fronts due to the implementation of the one-vote system. He said the recent incidents in Sabahiya are direct violations of Article 38 of the Constitution which prohibits the entry of outsiders into residential areas unless they obtain permission from the resident.
Al-Adsani stressed the nullified Assembly protected freedoms as it allotted 10-day provisional detention and maximum of 40 days detention but an emergency decree was issued to amend the decision, increasing the number of days for provisional detention to 15 days and the maximum detention to six months.
