Islamabad - Tehran and Islamabad discussed scope of work under project of $1.5 billion IP gas line and fixed sharing responsibilities as to which country would complete which tasks in laying down 781 pipeline, a media report said Wednesday.
'The News' reported that the two sides have divided the scope of work between them during the 2nd day of talks on technical level.
The deputy chief exceptive of Tadbir--the state owned Iranian company headed the delegation of Iran and Managing Director of Inter State Gas Systems (ISGS) led the Pakistan side in the meeting.
The top official who was part of the meeting told the newspaper that the scope of work with regard to engineering, procurement and construction of pipeline was minutely deliberated in length.
Apart from it, both the countries also discussed the finances involved in the project. It was also discussed what interest Pakistan will pay to Iran on the loan of $500 million it will extend and when the repayment of loan will get started.
The official also confided to The News that the officials of the finance ministry have deliberated financial issues include the mode of payments of loan and the gas price at length with the visiting Iranian officials.
He said that both the countries would discuss the cost of construction and laying down of pipeline per liter. Tadbir---the state owned company of Iran has already agreed to construct 2 kilometer pipeline per day which will help complete the laying down of 781 kilometers in 15-16 months.
