ABU DHABI, 2 Mar, 05 (WAM) - German-born Horst Burbulla who receivedan Oscar statuette at the recently concluded 77th Annual Academy Awardsceremony for inventing the Technocrane, a telescoping camera crane thathas redefined the industry standard, will be visiting Dubai to attendthe 11th Middle East International Cable, Satellite, Broadcast & CommunicationsExhibition (CABSAT).

Horst Burbulla is credited with developing the Technocrane telescopingcrane. He introduced it to Hollywood's best-known director Steven Spielberg,who first used it in the 1981 in the action-adventure film 'Raiders ofthe Lost Ark'.

The Technocrane made camera cranes more mobile and improved wide-screencinematography by putting cameras in places where their operators couldnot easily go, and helped capture complex action sequences.

Among other major players to be present at CABSAT this year from thecable and satellite sector include E-Vision, Viaccess, HomeCast, Eurostar,Echostar, Triax, Topfield, HomeCast, Kaon, Technosat, SMART, SMT, Skyworth,Fortec, Thomson Broadband, ABO, Dynavision, Dubai TV and Al Majd.

The communications sector has attracted top names like Arabsat, Eutelsat,Intelsat, New Skies, Globcast, Hellas, SES Americom, Viasat, NSTT, Newsat,Atlas Communications, Horizon Satellite, Streamlink, ND Satcom, Newtec,Bond and Speedcast.

With the launch of their 4th generation of ARABSAT satellites in 2005,ARABSAT leads the region again with higher power, wider coverage andthe latest state-of-the-art satellites. ARABSAT is the only full-servicesatellite operator based in the Middle East. They will put on displaylive High Definition Television (HDTV) signals delivered via ARABSAT'ssatellite directly to the CABSAT show floor in booth no A6-10.
