Doha: Oryx Energy Projects & Services LLC (Oryx) announced that it has entered into a joint venture agreement with AES Engineering Ltd, the holding company of AESSEAL plc (AES), of the UK, who are a world leading specialist in the mechanical sealing industry and are currently the third largest independent mechanical seal supplier in the region.
Mechanical seals prevent the leakage of liquids and gasses in industrial pumps and rotating equipment, and the joint venture will supply mechanical seals products and services to all major industries -- including oil & gas, pharmaceutical, chemical, bio-fuels, power generation, pulp & paper, mining, steel production and other specialist applications requiring mechanical seals.
The JV shall carry out supply, training, consultation and related activities for all AESSEAL branded mechanical seals, seal support systems, high performance gland packing and bearing protection devices in the State of Qatar. The JV, with the technical support and vast experience brought in by AESSEAL, will also be repairing all brands of wet seals in Qatar to ISO 29001. Initially dry gas seals (DGS) of all brands will be processed through the Oryx facility in Qatar and repaired and tested at the appropriate AESSEAL facility.
The joint venture company will be headquartered in the Oryx corporate offices in Doha, with its facilities located in the custom-designed state of the art facility within Oryx's Engineering Solutions Centre in Ras Laffan Industrial City.
