Sohar chosen for major real estate development

A major residential and commercial property has launched near Oman's northern industrial City of Sohar.

Majan Gulf Properties (MGP), has linked up with International Gulf Development and Contracting Company (IGDC) to launch the one million sqm 'Sohar Residential and Commercial Project' in the Wilayat area 240 km north of Muscat.

The projects, designed and to be developed by MGP and include: the Pearl Sea Resort; the Al Bustan deluxe apartment complex; residential villa compounds plus the 134,000 sqm  Majan Logistic City.

FP7 Oman will handle marketing and media relations for the project and has confirmed that a region-wide marketing campaign to attract international investors is curently being planned.

Sohar, with its strategic coastal location and proximity not only to Muscat but the key cities of the UAE is leading the charge in the Sultanate's governement-led industrial revolution.

Commenting on Sohar, Mohammad al Marzougi, Majan CEO said: "Sohar occupies a strategic 45 km open sea gate on the Gulf of Oman and was chosen by the government to be developed into a main industrial bay through its 200 square kilometre industrial city and its diversified refineries including petrochemicals, metal and aluminum."

Sohar-based MGP was founded in 2004 by Nayef Al Rifai from Bahrain and Al-Marzougi from the UAE. 

MGP is registered in Oman as a Limited Liability Company with salespeople throughout Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Cairo and KSA.
