SALALAH (ONA) - A workshop on Multi-protocol Labelling Switching (MPLS) technology concluded here yesterday. The five-day workshop was organised by Omantel in co-operation with the Arab Centre for Excellence of the International Telecommunications Union. Mohammed bin Ali Bai-Ali, Head of the Customer Service Department in Dhofar Governorate, said that the workshop was aimed at enlightening government and private sector organisations about the great potentials of the new data transfer system which, he noted, proved to be the fastest and most secure medium so far. Ghulam bin Ibrahim al Balushi, Director of the Arab Centre for Excellence, said that the workshop was a means of upgrading the cognitive skills of the participants to help keep pace with the Sultanate's progress.
