Muscat -- The brand new Aurion represents an entirely new class of automobile. It is a V6 3.5-liter sedan that projects an aggressive, stimulating and refined lifestyle, with unprecedented power performance, driving performance and prestige, elevating owner satisfaction to an entirely new level. The driving performance armed with power and smoothness suited for a luxury vehicle, was achieved by adopting a new-generation V6, dual VVT-i engine and a super intelligent 6-speed Automatic Transmission. In addition, an aura of prestige was pursued with responsive handling, performance, riding comfort, and a variety of advanced technology. As a result, a sedan was created that opens the curtain on an entirely new class.
In the making of the Aurion, the design concept of "Dynamic yet Majestic" was adopted to pursue a sophisticated style, polished by the unique touch of Japanese aesthetics. Both interior and exterior designs were achieved with a distinct presence that surpasses that of conventional mid-class sedans with added luxury, a personal touch, a prestigious image and a highly refined image. Responsive and smooth acceleration of the Aurion was pursued with a new-generation V6 3.5-liter engine, which develops a whopping 268 horsepower net and a super intelligent 6-speed A/T. To fully utilise the performance of this powertrain, the suspension was optimally tuned, and efforts were made to achieve both high levels of handling stability and riding comfort.
To intensely convey the premium feeling the moment the vehicle is seen or driven, the 'hospitality equipment' and various advanced features, such as a navigation system, smart entry and start system, dual automatic air conditioning, steering wheel mounted controls, power 8-way adjustable driver seat and 6-way adjustable power front passenger seat, 6CD/MP3 changer, rear power sunshade, outer mirrors with side turn signal lamps, were added.
In addition to incorporating vehicle control systems such as brake assist, ABS (anti-lock brake system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution), VSC (vehicle stability control) as well as a GOA (global outstanding assessment) collision safety body, Aurion's passenger protection system was enhanced with dual-stage SRS (supplemental restraint system) front airbags, SRS side airbags and SRS dual curtain shield airbags. Furthermore, a body structure was incorporated that alleviates impact to pedestrians should a collision with a pedestrian occur.
The front is designed with a distinct U-shaped double concave form that flows from the hood to the lower bumper grille. A sense of unity that flows with the body was projected by adopting large front bumper covers and by shaving away the bumper corners with large round forms. The use of this form creates an image with a majestic presence and an aura of prestige. In addition, the headlamps are configured from the three cylindrical forms of the high beams, low beams, and clearance lamps. With the sophisticated image of precision these headlamps create a sense of luxury and emphasise the spirit of innovation.
On the other hand, the sides portray a sense of stateliness that brings thickness to the front hood, and incorporate strong proportions created by a long cabin and a lower body premised on straight lines. The result is styling of a next-generation sedan. Moreover, a high quality, luxurious image is emphasised by focusing carefully on surface quality and creating beautiful shadows through concave and convex surface contrasts. The rear also takes on a U-shaped double concave form similar to that of the front for the trunk lid and bumper shape, and an advanced image is portrayed by the row of three cylindrical LED combination lamps.
Aurion offers a comfortable ambience that is conveyed the moment one sits in the seat. A quiet interior that relaxes the soul while driving. Seats that gently embrace the body. Switches and knobs that can be operated naturally when hands are reached out. And no unpleasant noise or vibration that can cause stress. The target in developing the new Aurion was to provide satisfaction from the creation of human-focused space. With this goal in mind, an interior space was created that fuses human sensitivity with ergonomics in the shape of the seats, in the size and layout of each operating system, and in the body structure, that reduces vibration and noise.
