MUSCAT -- Bahwan CyberTek (BCT) yesterday organised a seminar on 'Adobe e-forms for the government' at Sheraton Oman Hotel, attended by about 35 key representatives from ministries and associated companies involved in e-government projects. The programme featured speakers from BCT, Adobe and BSeen, who addressed a variety of benefits accruing from Adobe e-forms.

The programme was targeted at personnel involved with the government in any sort of business that includes document interaction within the government, citizens or other governmental entities. BSeen is a global company registered in Ireland with operations around the globe. The company, which is the master distributor of Adobe e-solutions in the Middle East, was formally launched three years ago after a planning phase of six years, Azita Nader, Chairman of BSeen, said.

The company's core strength lies in finding e-solutions and technology unseen elsewhere and which have a proven track record, Azita pointed out. "Many of our programmes are already successfully running in various governments," she added. "The e-solutions provided by us are introduced after two years of due diligence and are unique to each country where they are in operation," Azita said. In particular, the solutions being offered for Oman pertain to security, disaster recovery, tourism, education and culture.

The security systems incorporating the BSeen solutions help in better control of ports and airports where the movement of people can be closely monitored, Azita said. Presently, various forms, which require to be maintained strictly confidential, are filled by citizens, she said, adding that Adobe e-forms could very much help in standardising these procedures.

Bahwan CyberTek was chosen as the master partner of BSeen in Oman in view of its global business and e-government projects, Azita said. Bahwan CyberTek perfectly compliments our business activities, she added.

Alfie Taylor, Government Practice Director of Adobe in Europe, Middle East and Africa, said numerous document exchange in governments can be automated and standardised with Adobe format. The standardised format communication can help in effective content delivery, he added.
