MUSCAT -- The website 'Oman Qaboos' on the multifaceted personality of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has launched three new languages, bringing the total number to 19, the first global website to address its visitors in 19 languages.
The three new languages are 'Thai, Filipino, and Indonesian'. The other 16 languages are Arabic, English, French, Hindi, Portuguese, Korean, Persian, Swahili, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Malaysian and Bengali.
The site highlights the multifaceted personality of His Majesty the Sultan and some of His Majesty's achievements at the domestic and foreign levels, as well as His Majesty's personal profile and academic life.
The site also includes quotes from His Majesty's speeches, a collection of His Majesty's photographs, as well as some national songs. Hamoud bin Mohammed al Azri, Supervisor General of the website, said that the translation of the website into 19 languages contributes to inform the world on the distinctive profile of His Majesty the Sultan and the considerable achievements accomplished in His Majesty's prosperous reign. He added that Oman Qaboos magazine was also launched in Bengali language. The magazine contains the same contents of the website.
