SOHAR -- Oman's first of its kind meat processing and packaging factory Premium Food Industries, under the patronage of HH Sayyid Fatik bin Fahar bin Taimur al Said, Secretary-General, Ministry of Heritage and Culture, was inaugurated by HH Sayyida Noora bint Fatik bin Fahar al Said, at the Sohar Industrial Estate (SIE), yesterday. At the well-attended event were the Wali of Sohar, ambassadors, senior officials and other dignitaries, who came to witness the opening of Premium Food Industries' state of the art meat processing and packaging factory.

Established as a part of the Sayyid Fatik bin Fahar Group of Companies and under the vision of its founder HH Sayyid Fatik bin Fahar bin Taimur al Said, the Group has always strived to explore new avenues for growth. The launching of Premium Food Industries reflects this and is a realisation of the positive efforts they have exerted. Premium Food Industries is soon to launch its own brand a delightful range of Halal meat products that are made from top quality beef, chicken and lamb.

These products will be made from Halal meat carefully selected from the best farms of Oman, as well as from around the world. The production facility in Sohar comprises of the very latest equipment, assuring optimum hygiene standards. The products features also encompass state-of-the-art packaging, attractive labelling, great taste, longer shelf life, bar coding on individual products, nutritional facts explained on labels and special cooking instructions.

Mohammed bin Hamed bin Sultan al Majali, Assistant to HH the Chairman, spoke to the Observer on the occasion. He noted that the factory is now commencing operations and that they will be coordinating their efforts with Al Saffah and other companies within the GCC. Further, he said, they would be supplying Omani Halal products to countries, such as India and Singapore, where Halal products are not readily available.

Hopefully, he added, in the future they will also be able to supply similar Halal products to western countries.

He expressed his appreciation to all who have extended support and gave special thanks to the enlightened policies of His Majesty the Sultan that have made such projects possible.
