MUSCAT -- The Information Technology Authority (ITA) is organising a seminar and workshop on 'Information security' at the Institute of Public Administration in Al Khuwair. The seminar on April 7 is targeted at government IT managers. This session will provide the IT managers with a comprehensive overview of the global information security landscape and the importance of implementing an information security management system (ISMS) as per the ISO/IEC 27001 Standard within every government office.

The seminar on April 7 is targeted at government IT managers. This session will provide the IT managers with a comprehensive overview of the global information security landscape and the importance of implementing an information security management system (ISMS) as per the ISO/IEC 27001 Standard within every government office.
The workshop, to be held from April 8 to 11, is aimed at information security practitioners (ISP) of all governmental entities. An ISP is the champion of information security within a government entity and will take proactive/reactive actions to ensure timely management of information security. This workshop will equip the ISPs with the knowledge and skill to implement ISMS based on the ISO/IEC 27001 standard and related international best practices.
