SALALAH -- His Eminence Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad al Khalili, Grand Mufti of the Sultanate, delivered a religious lecture on the Islamic nation and challenges of the 21st century at the Directorate-General of Heritage and Culture Theatre. Shaikh Al Khalili spoke of the formidable challenges facing the Islamic nation, stressing the need for solidarity and unity while shunning disarray and fanaticism in order to strengthen Islamic consolidation and emphasize the true image of Islam.
The lecture was held as part of religious and cultural events of Khareef Salalah 2006 festival. The lecture was attended by Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Abdullah bin Saif al Mahrouqi, Deputy Governor of Dhofar, and Engineer Ahmed bin Ali al Amri, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, as well as members of the public and visitors.
