Muscat: The Indian embassy organised an open house session on Monday in Khasab to address the problems being faced by the members of the Indian community residing there and surrounding areas of Musandam.
Anil Wadhwa, the ambassador of India to the Sultanate addressed a gathering of sizeable Indian nationals at the open house session.
The open house session provided an opportunity for Indian nationals to bring their problems directly to the ambassador. For most of the problems, the ambassador assured them of speedy remedial actions.
Noting the distance of Khasab from the capital, Muscat, Wadhwa announced that the embassy officials will be sent to Khasab for consular services for Indian nationals every two-three months.
The ambassador also stated that the Indian embassy is considering to appoint one more honorary consular agent for Khasab region.
Residents of Khasab also expressed their desire to receive cultural troupes from India, and the ambassador stated that this will be done.

Wadhwa assured the School Management Committee that the embassy would impress upon the Board of Directors to extend financial assistance to the Khasab school in order to improve educational facilities.
Later, Wadhwa was also the chief guest at the Indian School Khasab annual function. He appreciated the performances put up by young children of the school and donated 200 books to the school.
