A three-day clean-up campaign targeting the coral reefs around the Daymaniyat Islands concluded yesterday. It was organised by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, in association with a number of government and private sector bodies, including dive clubs of the Royal Navy of Oman. Around 100 divers participated in the event, clearing trash and debris such as abandoned fishing nets and plastics. The organisers commended the cooperation between the government and private organisations in carrying out a successful clean-up of the coral reefs, noting it augured well for future efforts to conserve and protect the Sultanate's marine environment.
