OMAN Cables celebrated successful implementation of ERP System on December 7, 2006 at Oman Sheraton Hotel.
The glittering function was attended by Hussain Salman -- Vice Chairman and Managing Director and Sultan al Habsi, Director, Oman Cables, key management members, ERP project team, Information technology consultants, and employees involved in the implementation.
OCI opted for 'Big-Bang' by implementing sales and distribution, manufacturing, maintenance, quality and finance modules together. The entire system was completed and the company introduced it on December 1, 2006. Information technology consultants have indicated that this project would qualify for Class-A implementation and will create a bench mark for future ERP projects.
The company recognised all its employees as also 'information' consultants for this successful implementation. Hussain Salman, while appreciating the efforts of all concerned, expressed satisfaction that the project has been able to achieve company vide change in the mind-set and has created system and business orientation. So far, Oman Cables has been investing in modernising its plant and equipment.
The investment in 'infor' ERP (BaaN IVc4, cable solution) has contributes towards modernising the 'minds' and achieving operational excellence in all areas of company working. He also mentioned that this achievement has come in good time to coincide with the completion of OCI's a decade operations. While felicitating key performers, he added that this is just the beginning of a journey towards business and operational excellence for the company. He was also confident that all the end users of ERP system could now focus on making the best use of available resources for improving their performance.
