Okaidi
Dubai Al Shamsi Holdings L.L.C, the exclusive agent for the French children's clothing brand Okaidi in the UAE, in coordination with the Ministry of Economy, Department of Consumer Protection, started a recall yesterday of Okaidi children's pajamas sold in the country.
Al Shamsi Holdings revealed that the French-made kidswear contains a high percentage of polyester that is incompatible with international standards.
The company also said that the move is in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Economy, particularly with regard to protecting the welfare of consumers.
Customers who have bought the Okaidi pajamas have been urged to stop using the garments immediately and return them to the recalling section of any Okaidi store in the UAE. Items returned within four weeks from the date of the announcement will be refunded in full.
"We have issued a recall notice regarding a limited number of sleepwear garments sold in Okaidi stores in 2008. Our decision to take this action was based on a full commitment of honesty to all our customers. We want to reassure them that the Okaidi brand strives to always provide high-quality products that meet all relevant health and safety standards. For further enquiries about the list of recalled items, please don't hesitate to contact an Okaidi outlet in your area," said Jean Michel Bolly, Retail Group Director of Al Shamsi Holdings L.L.C, in an email statement to Gulf News.
