MUSCAT -- With the establishment of its first ever digital media department back in December 2012, the Oman Daily Observer is rapidly branching out into new creative mediums to disseminate information.
Starting today, the Observer will be teaming up with Radio Merge Radio 104.8 on a show called "Social Oman." The programme will be co-hosted by Radio Merge presenter, Rumaitha al Busaidy and Observer's online editor, Fatima Muneer. "Social Oman" will be airing from 2:30 to 3:30 pm every Thursday and will be a forum for discussing topics of social interest in Oman. Guest speakers will be featured who happen to be experts on the topic being discussed and listeners can call in with their input. The first episode will be on the question of, "You're Omani, but how well do you know Oman's laws?" Guest speaker for the debut show will be Omani lawyer, Maimuna al Sulaimaniya, who has also launched the first law magazine in the GCC, Law and Life. The episode will be covered live on social media using the hashtag, #SocialOman.
