Dubai: A new study Air Transport in United Arab Emirates has been published by the Information Affairs Office of Shaikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nah-yan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister.

"Our civilisation march continues with unrivaled success, which has been appreciated by all countries in the world. And the first evidence of this is what we are seeing today of completed infrastructures, sophisticated services, factories, and good networks of roads and ports," President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been quoted as saying.

The new study gives a historical overview of the country's aviation sector and its stages of development that made it one of the world's five fastest aviation markets.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) was created in 1996 by a Cabinet decree to regulate civil aviation and strengthen the UAE's aviation industry. The GCCA has been appointed member of the Committee of Dangerous Goods which consist of 17 experts.

"The UAE has become the region's aviation hub in which our national carriers are playing a significant part," Sultan Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE's Minister for Communication, said.
