A number of road projects were opened in Wilayat Bahla yesterday as part of celebrations marking the 35th National Day. The projects were aimed at cutting down the number of road accidents in the wilayat. The ceremony was presided over by Shaikh Hilal bin Said al Hajri, Wali of Bahla.

The projects included the paving of the Seeh al Wudaim at Hibbi area, the completion of the road leading to the health centre at al Maamour and the construction of a car parking in front of Al Maamour School and Al Tufail public hall, and the internal roads in Seeh al Samn.

The Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources will open a number of road asphalting, lighting and beautification projects in the wilayats of the Dakhiliyah region The total cost of the projects which will be opened as part of the 35th National Day celebrations is RO 2 million.

Mohammed bin Abdullah al Salmi, Deputy Director-General of the Regional Municipalities and Environment in the Dakhiliyah region, said the new projects include a beautification project in Farq, opening of asphalt roads at Wadi al Muslah in Tanoof, at the heritage quarter in the Wilayat of Nizwa and at Saih Qutnah block in Al Jabal al Akhdhar in the Wilayat of Nizwa.(ONA)
