SEOUL -- Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidy, Minister of Interior, and president of the Sultanate's delegation to the celebration of Oman National Day in Yeosu Expo 2012 presided yesterday over the opening ceremony of the new building of the Omani Embassy in South Korea. The building reflects the strong relations between the two countries and the important role of Korea in political, economic and cultural fields. It consists of six floors.

Mohammed bin Salim al Harthy, Oman Accredited Ambassador to South Korea, said: "We realise the interest of Korea in arts and architectural designs, as well as in characteristic Omani architectural designs, we take into account the importance of highlighting the features of Omani architecture clearly with constructional and architectural designs, in order to be in line with Korean architecture."

The ambassador expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Korean Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Municipality of Seoul for their co-operation. The new building of the embassy is a catalyst for both friendly countries to put more efforts towards strengthening Omani-Korean relations and expanding its prospects to broader areas.
