BAGHDAD - National Wifaq Movement leading member expected the announcement of a new bloc comprising of 30 MPs, most of them from Iraqiya bloc.
MP Abdul Khidhir al-Khafaji said, a leading member in Wifaq Movement, headed by Iyad Alawi, in as statement to London based Al-Hayat daily that "the coming days will witness the formation of a new bloc with more than 30 MPs".
MP Alia Nsaif of Free Iraqiya bloc announced that Alawi has only 8 seats, according to the newspaper.
He refused to announce the names of the new MPs to join the bloc.
Iraqiya bloc comprises different types of the social strata, religions and personalities.
Hayat daily reported that the new bloc will comprise main segments of Iraqiya bloc, including Al-Hal, Dialogue, Wifaq and the Turkmen front.
MP Jamal al-Bateekh announced in December 2010 the first division in Iraqiya bloc by withdrawing 11 MP to form a new bloc called White Iraqiya, which begot a new one under the name of Free Iraqiya.
