MUSCAT — The National Bank of Oman (NBO) has organised an external training programme on Oracle financial services application specific to the data warehouse system used at the bank.

This one-week training course was conducted for 13 staff members from IT, finance, treasury, corporate, consumer and investment banking as well as credit and risk management.

The objective of this programme was to provide a detailed view of the data available for the profitability and other management reporting related to customers, products or transactions, in order to enable users to produce the necessary reports from the system.

Some of the topics covered by the consultants from advanced computer systems included transfer pricing, performance analyser, profitability reporting, MIS reporting and a special module on risk management.

Iqbal Yousef Al Balushi, head of training and development, NBO said: “In these days of advanced technology, NBO constantly strives to be on the cutting edge of training, developing and honing skills with emphasis on IT.”
