Dr Husseini Enquires About MEW Water Deals

KUWAIT CITY, April 1

MP Ahmad Al-Mulaifi submitted a query to Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Thikra Al-Rasheedi regar-ding some posters that have been hanging inside the cooperative society of Fahad Al-Ahmad area on which 'No to National Unity...Yes to Islamic Unity' is printed, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
He said the ministry is responsible for allowing the hanging of such posters inside the state utilities and cooperative societies, inquiring if the minister or concerned officials of the ministry checked these posters.
He asked, "What are the procedures ministry takes in this regard? Are there any regulations that ban cooperative societies from practicing such activities that harm national unity?"

Meanwhile, Dr Meshari Al-Husseini submitted a number of queries to the Minister of Electricity and Water Abdulaziz Abdullatif Al-Ibrahim regarding the deterioration in the country's infrastructure even though Kuwait is one of the richest countries in the world, reports Al-Anba daily.

He enquired about the contracts the ministry has recently signed on the projects for supplying water to North Shuaiba area, and for storing and supplying water to North Shuaiba Station, Mina Abdullah and West Funaitees.

He said he submitted these queries based on Article 17 of the Constitution, which is related to the protection of public funds, adding that he sensed negligence in the ministry's use of the public funds. He stressed that the ministry has a huge task of handling all the mistakes that have been committed in this domain.

He asked, "What is the total cost of the contracts that ministry signed for the projects on water supply in North Shuaiba area as well as water storage, transport and distribution in North Shuaiba Station, Mina Abdullah and West Funaitees?"
