The Vice-President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Sidi Khadad El Moussaoui, affirmed on Thursday in Havana that the autonomy project in the southern provinces with Moroccan sovereignty is "the unique solution to the long-lasting dispute, where there will be no winner and no loser."
"The unique solution to the Sahara issue resides in granting the southern provinces autonomy, which will allow Sahrawis to manage their political, economic, social and cultural affairs," the official told MAP news agency.
El Moussaoui is heading a CORCAS delegation visiting Havana to attend the 14th conference of the Non Aligned Movement (NAM), taking place on Sept. 11-16.
"This visit aims at explaining to the representatives of different delegations participating in the conference and the press the objectives assigned to CORCAS as well as Morocco's autonomy proposal," said the official.
El Moussaoui underlined that CORCAS aims at contributing to the reconciliation between all Sahrawis.
Mentioning the inapplicability of the referendum, the CORCAS official invited Algeria to contribute to the said reconciliation and called on Polisario leaders to contribute to the entry in force of the autonomy project.
