FEZ, Morocco, April 11 (KUNA) -- Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities in Fez Dr Abdelrahman Tankul commended on Wednesday the distinguished media and cultural festival currently being held in Morocco by the Kuwaiti Media Office in celebration of Fez being the capital of Islamic culture.
Speaking to KUNA, Tankul said the Kuwaiti culture is one of the brilliant aspects of the deep-rooted historic ties between Kuwait and Morocco.
He also praised Kuwait's sophisticated history in the cultural and media spheres, saying Kuwait has enriched the artistic and innovative practices in the Arab world in general.
Tankul pointed out that the festival reflected the great efforts exerted by the state of Kuwait in its distinguished cultural march, extolling at the same time the tremendous and infinite services and facilities Kuwait has rendered to the Arab culture.
He said the festival, which included a number of fruitful events such as exhibitions, competitions and poetic evenings, is a great opportunity for the Kuwaitis and Moroccans to exchange points of view and expertise in matters of mutual concern.
He said that celebrating Fez as the capital of the Islamic culture by the state of Kuwait was an honor to this city being one of the Arab and Islamic landmarks approved by the UNESCO an an international humanitarian heritage.
Tankul said that the Moroccan people would get acquainted with the Kuwaiti cultural and media life.
