Morgan Stanley To Open Office In Egypt
Morgan Stanley on 23 May announced plans to seek regulatory approvals to open an office in Egypt. Banker and previous hedge fund manager 'Amr Diab was appointed executive director and country representative, with responsibility for client coverage and business development there. This move is in line with the company’s expansion strategy in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In March, Morgan Stanley signed a joint-venture agreement with The Capital Group (TCG, a leading local investment bank in Saudi Arabia) to set up Morgan Stanley Saudi Arabia (MSSA), having announced its intention to do so the previous month (MEES, 12 February).
