AJMAN, June 12th, 2010: Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum today paid a courtesy visit to His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman at Al-Safiyah Palace in Ajman.
Later, Sheikh Mohammed held a joint meeting of the cabinet and heads of Ajman local departments. The meeting discussed the process of development on the federal and local levels as well as coordination among local and federal departments to reach a common view of balanced development nationwide. Sheikh Mohammed expressed satisfaction at such meetings which aim to implement UAE Vision 2021, a master plan launched last February with the ultimate goal of making the country among the best countries in the world by 2021. Sheikh Mohammed noted that achieving that goal expresses the Cabinets pledge to the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the people of the UAE who are the focus of the strategy. He called on the ministers and federal and local officials to shoulder their full national responsibility and be fully dedicated to work which he said is "a national, ethical and religious duty.""We work for the country and citizens to complete the building which foundations were laid by the founding fathers to maintain the country's high status," he added. Saturday's meeting "serves as a message for all officials that serving the country does not stop on weekends and holidays as long as their is a feeling of responsibility for the country and its people and institutions," he noted. For his part, Sheikh Humaid welcomed the call by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to hold the meeting which is "a fortunate move in the right direction and is loaded with sublime meanings and expresses the far-sighted vision of H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid for national action."Sheikh Humaid expressed hopes that today's meeting would come up with positive results for all citizens nationwide. He further said he would follow up on the work of the joint action teams of the Cabinet and Ajman local departments which Sheikh Mohammed set up. Present at the meeting were H.H Sheikh Humaid, H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al-Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Sheikhs, ministers and senior officials.
