DUBAI, July 15th, 2013 (WAM) -- Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, has set up a committee to work out an action plan for implementing the 'Mobile Government' (m-Government) initiative, launched in May by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for the delivery of government services to the public through their mobile phones, anywhere and round-the-clock.
The initiative aims to encourage government entities in the UAE to offer innovative services through mobile phones, portable devices and text message applications to ensure access to government services 24/7. Services under the initiative will be delivered in a highly efficient and transparent manner to meet the needs and expectations of customers, enabling them to benefit from communicating with government entities from anywhere. The minister himself will chair the committee, which will also oversee the implementation of the initiative from A to Z. An action plan team, led by Abdul Rahim Al Hamadi, Ministry's Assistant Under-Secretary for Support Services, will draw up a programme for the course of action, estimated financial cost and duration of completing the plan.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2013.
