DOHA: Modern Central Laundry yesterday announced that it has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001 certification for its state-of-the-art operation, based in the industrial area of Doha.
Modern Central Laundry has now been operating for over 12 months and has been working towards certification throughout this period. Modern Central Laundry is managed by Paragon, who is one of the largest UK laundry providers, and is developing, through their Dream laundry brand, a Middle East solution for the global brands.
David Stevens, Managing Director of Paragon and NewGen (their Middle East arm), said: "We have ISO 9001 in all our UK operations and it was a natural progression to achieve the accreditation at Modern Central Laundry - I am delighted with the effort the team has put in to securing this in such a short time. This is the first of many new initiatives we will be bringing to the laundry market in Qatar to support the expanding market demands".
Kevin Hamilton, the General Manager of the operation, stated "It was a very thorough audit of our systems and procedures and is a credit to my team that we passed with no major non-conformances". He goes on to add "As the first laundry operation in the Middle East to achieve such accreditation, it gives our customers confidence that we are operating to the highest quality standards, which is important to the growing Qatar hospitality industry that is based on excellence of service in all areas".
