Some 3.7 trillion rials have been spent for renovating Hamrah-e Avval, the first mobile phone network, across 17 provinces, said the vice president of Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran (MCI).
Hassan Razavi also told Fars News Agency that work would be completed by June 2013.
Close to 1.7 trillion rials were allocated for the renovation of mobile phone network in seven provinces, while over 2 trillion rials have so far been spent for ongoing renovation projects across 10 provinces.
Razavi said the quality of mobile phone network has improved significantly.
"The renovation project will be conducted across the remaining provinces during next year," he said.
