SHAHROUD, Semnan: The biggest concentrated fruit juice production line in the Middle East has become operational as a pilot project in Shahroud. Stating the above to IRIB, managing director of the company, Ali Mohammadi said the factory covers an area of more than a 15,000 sq.m. and was built at a cost of about 110 billion rials. He noted that the factory has the capacity to produce over 16,000 tons of concentrate as well as 110,000 tons of other fruit juices per annum. Mohammadi added that the factory is also able to process more than 15 tons of grapevine, 10 tons of apple, 10 tons of apricot, and 7 tons of cherry from the locally orchards per hour, producing either concentrate or just fruit juice.

The head of Shahroud Concentrated Fruit Juice Company maintained that the factory has four production lines each equipped with production and packaging halls as well as refrigerators and other facilities. According to him, the company aims to export its products to European markets. The factory employs 100 people and more than 2,000 people are also indirectly involved. Shahroud in Semnan province produces more than 200,000 tons of grapevine, apricot, apple, cherry and other fruits per year.
