Doha: The Meinhardt Group, one of the world's leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy firms, will soon open an office in Doha.

The Australian-based group, which employs 3,000 professionals in 28 offices globally, first ventured into the Middle East in 1997.

Some of the mega projects that were undertaken by Meinhardt Group, in particular Meinhardt Singapore in the Middle East include The Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina Mall & Hotel, Dubai Festival City, Mall of Kuwait and ATTA Towers, Bahrain.

In particular, The Pearl - Viva Bahriya and Aquatar, a 120,000sqm mixed-use resort, consisting of a 5-Star Hotel, Aquarium, Six Flags Theme and Water Park, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, are all projects originated in Qatar.

With projects spreading across the Middle East in countries such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and now Qatar, a physical office will enable the company to be closer to its Clients.

Along with its expansion plans, Meinhardt will be announcing a new project in Lebanon at the 4th Qatar International Real Estate & Investment Exhibition (Q-Rex). The exhibition is currently under way at Doha Exhibition Centre.

Dr Shahzad Nasim, Managing Director, Meinhardt International & Meinhardt Singapore, said "Meinhardt will continue to sustain a strong presence in the Middle East with the opening of this new office in Qatar. Our participation in Q-Rex remains part of our long term commitment to the Middle East and North Africa region, in particular the Qatari market.

Q-Rex, being one of the most important and most-watched real estate events in the region, acts as an excellent platform for Meinhardt to partner government and private sectors, and where suitable, carry out project management, lead consultancy and design services for mega projects," Dr Nasim added.

Meinhardt's four-day exhibition stand is not only showcasing its current and future projects but also demonstrating its full suite of multi-disciplinary engineering and design services. Throughout the exhibition, Meinhardt's management team will be present to exchange experiences and meet with the top decision makers.
