MARRAKECH, Dec 13 (KUNA) -- Marrakech is joyful ahead of the visit by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah slated later on Wednesday.
Streets extending from the international airport have been decorated by both leaders' pictures and flags.
A large number of spectators are expected to gather at both sides of the streets leading to the airport to receive Morocco's honorary guest.
Deputy of Marrakech and son of former Foreign Minister Ahmad Khalil Bu Sitta said all Moroccans are eager for HH the Amir's visit today, saying the visit opens wider horizons of cooperation between the two countries especially in the economic, social and cultural domains.
Bu Sitta told KUNA that women of Marrakech are also pleased with the prospective visit of the great Arab leader who has given the Kuwaiti woman her right to exercise democracy in Kuwait.
He called for boosting bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism, housing, and the exchange of expertise, praising efforts of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and the Kuwaiti-Moroccan Development Company.
On his part, Mayor of Marrakech Mohammad Al-Hurr welcomed the visit of HH the Amir, saying this city would add another brilliant page to its history with this visit.
He added that all people in Marrakech would flock to streets today welcoming HH the Amir of Kuwait carrying both countries' flags and pictures of their leaders in an expression to the historic ties linking both countries.
Al-Hurr underscored the volume of Kuwaiti investments in his country that include road projects, ports and irrigation, calling on the Kuwaiti investors to benefit from the new Moroccan investment laws.
Member of Parliament Khadeja Maulaynayn told KUNA the visit of HH the Amir is a new opportunity to strengthen the political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries, expressing optimism about outcome of the official talks between the two countries' leaders.
She extolled the process of democracy, economic and social boom besides the cultural upswing in the state of Kuwait, pointing to the increasing of Kuwaiti woman's participation in various political arenas and her interaction with men for the best interest of the Kuwaiti society.
