The decision comes in line with direct support provided by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the judicial authorities in the emirate and follow up of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Commenting on the decision, Adviser Yusuf Saeed Al Aberi, acting public prosecutor in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, said "the decision on setting up the family prosecution in Al Ain follows the directives from the chairman of the AJD to boost the standard of judiciary in the emirate of Abu Dhabi".

The newly set up family prosecution will tackle the family juvenile and criminal cases, as well as give advice in family issues and minors' sponsorship cases before the courts. Social workers will be appointed to work at the family prosecution to study social cases of parties involved in the case before the family prosecution. They will compile reports to submit them to the head of the family prosecution and courts.

Al Aberi noted that the decision also comes in line with the-five-year strategy of the ADJ and in accordance with the directives of Sheikh Mansour to expand special prosecutions and courts to speedy up settling cases among disputants.
