DUBAI, Apr. 25th, 2010: H.H Sheikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, has attended the closing ceremony of Tag Heuer Ice Race held at the Dubai Mall Ice Rink where drivers competed for the fastest lap on in a karting race on ice.

The iconic Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer, long associated with racing and performance introduced the new event to the Dubai sports calendar.

Sheikh Mansour was briefed on the race which was held for the first time in the Middle East.

Contestants, age 16 and above, had the chance to race for and set the fastest single lap with electric karts on the Olympic sized-ice rink. The karts, supplied by Dubai Autodrome, have been modified especially for the ice rink with special tires to ensure grip without damage to the ice.

Drivers Anas Al-Halabi and Nicole Martinez emerged winners of the race as they achieved the fastest laps by a male and female.
