Shafaq News / Baghdad Operations Command announced, on Thursday, an order issued by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Nuri al-Maliki
to the security services of the army and police to implement an inspection process in its influence area.
"Maliki has ordered the Ground Force Command, Baghdad Operations Command and fight against terrorism service to carry out raids and searches in Baghdad Operations influence area," a statement issued by Baghdad Operations Command, received by "Shafaq News" noted.
A wave of bombings by car bombs and roadside bombs hit last Monday, each of Baghdad, Basra, Kut and Samawah that killed dozens and injured hundreds.
This wave of bombings came a few days after the escape of hundreds of prisoners from Taji and Abu Ghraib prisons, in coordinated attacks adopted by the local wing of al -Qaeda in Iraq.
A senior security official had said in a statement to one of the international agencies that the escape of the prisoners put the country on the threshold of "black days" as the escaped prisoners are trying to carry out "reprisal operations".
