Amman, Nov. 21 (Petra) -
Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament Atef Tarawneh met on Thursday with Moroccan Ambassador to Jordan Al Hassan Abdul Khaleq, who congratulated Tarawneh on his election as Speaker.
Tarawneh spoke about the burden being shouldered by Jordan as a result of hosting Syrian refugees as well as repercussions of the Syrian crisis on the Kingdom and the entire region.
He urged the international community to assist the Kingdom to enable it to continue playing its humanitarian role as far as the refugees are concerned.
The House, Tarawneh added, will work to activate the role of Jordanian-Moroccan committees to unify Arab efforts at international forums and serve the interests of both the countries.
The ambassador stressed the need to continue cooperation and coordination between the two countries' parliaments on various Arab and international issues.
He also praised the reforms being carried out by Jordan as well as the humanitarian role that the Kingdom is playing concerning the Syrian refugees.
