Lloyd's Register for ISO 9001.2008 has renewed its certificate for Dubai Media Incorporated for a period of three years, DMI Managing Director and Director-General Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh said on Sunday.
He said the renewal includes Noor Dubai radio station and as well both TV channels Noor Dubai and Dubai Racing, which were not within the scope of ISO 9001.2008, adding that it has come after Noor Dubai radio station got the ISO in quality system administration.
"This is a significant achievement for Noor Dubai for being the first radio station in the Middle East and Africa to earn a certificate of ISO 9001.2008 by Lloyd's Register," said Ahmed Al Shaikh.
He expressed his delight at the renewal of the certificate and said the achievement of Noor Dubai radio station in getting the ISO certificate reflects the keenness of DMI to develop human competencies.
He said the certification for Noor Dubai radio and TV channels Noor Dubai and Dubai Racing is a confirmation of the success of the strategy of development and constant updating in order to achieve excellence in media products.
He added: "This achievement and progress of the media product comes within the larger strategy of the Government of Dubai, which is keen on quality besides promoting and developing all its systems."
Ahmed Al Shaikh hailed the efforts of the DMI staff and managers who are keen to apply the best standards and administrative regulations. He urged all DMI cadres to maintain this achievement, which is a catalyst for further innovation, development and quality in line with the strategy and goals of the organisation.
Meanwhile, Khadija Al Marzouki, Director of Noor Dubai radio station, expressed her happiness that the station had won the ISO certificate that makes it the first radio station in the Middle East and Africa to achieve ISO 9001.2008.
She said what distinguishes this achievement is the short period in which the radio station has received such a prominent honour, as Noor Dubai joined DMI one year ago.
DMI had received the audit team of Lloyd's Register whose visit lasted four days from September 13 to 16.
The audit team expressed its satisfaction with the visit and pointed out that DMI is characterised by the application of international standards of managing quality system ISO 9001.2008.
Reports of Lloyd's Register mentioned the significant progress achieved by DMI over the past few months and the level of the application of all the system requirements by documenting the objectives and performance indicators of DMI at all levels of management and commitment to quality.
