Libya's interior minister, Abdul Fatah Younis, has resigned his post and voiced his support for opposition, Al Jazeera reported Tuesday on its live blog tracking developments on the turmoil in the North African nation ruled by Moammar Gadhafi.
Younis, who is described by Al Jazeera as "Gadhafi's No. 2" and an army general, also called on Libya's military to join the opposition and respond to the people's "legitimate demands," according to the blog.
