Libyan Telecom and Technology (LTT) signed a contract on Thursday (September 10th) with the committee for educational and scientific research to connect Libyan schools to the internet, PANA reported. The project will cost 82 million dinars and take 22 months to complete.

LTT also signed contracts with China's Huawei Technology and GTE to extend fixed wireless telephone service to 800,000 lines throughout the country, and signed a separate contract with Huawei to develop a new mobile telephone network.

A fourth contract was signed with Libyan mobile telephone company Al-Madid Al-Jedid to improve its services.
