Upon completion of Lavan Refinery's optimization project by March 2015, its daily Euro 4 gasoline production capacity will reach 2.8m liters.
Mohammad Ali Dadvar, managing director of Lavan Oil Refining Company, said currently, the refinery produces 1.03m liters of 87-octane gasoline/d, according to ˈIran Dailyˈ published Sunday.
He noted that the refinery's current feedstock is about 30,000 bpd.
"Once the project is complete, the refinery's products will comply with Euro 4 emission standards," he said.
The refinery's chief added that by establishing the refinery's second atmospheric distillation and vacuum distillation unit, Lavan's oil and gas condensate refining capacities increased from 30,000 bpd to 50,000 bpd.
"Later, the refinery increased the figure to 63,000 bpd," he said. "In 2012, the second hydrogen purification and catalytic reforming units of the refinery went on stream, which grew Lavan's gasoline production by 1.29 million liters per day."
Established in 1976, Lavan Oil Refining Company, affiliated to the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, is located in Hormuzgan province. The refinery's feedstock is produced by the offshore oilfields of Salman, Reshadat, Balal and Resalat.
